Deep Bay Harbour has a beautiful mountain backdrop and is great for viewing birds and other sea creatures.

The Fairwinds / Schooner Cove Marina on Nanoose's Peninsula is in a unique, rocky setting, perfect for wildlife viewing. Here you will find Haida Gold Ocean Adventures that offer lots of fun water excursions including fishing charters, sunset cruises, and picnic cruises. Stop by Nanoose Bay Cafe to grab a bite to eat while taking in picturesque views of the marina.

Go Sea Kayaking

Sea kayaking in Parksville Qualicum Beach lets you escape into a different world and experience the resident Pacific harbour seals and seasonal visitors the California Sea Lions (from September to May) up close. If you're lucky, you may see Killer Whales, dolphins, and other sea creatures. Get up close to marine nature either on your own or with a guide. Many accommodations offer on-site rentals, while local companies provide tours and equipment for all skill levels. No experience is necessary to participate in this activity as local companies lead tours as well as rent gear.
