The Great Pumpkin Toss

Join us for the fourth annual Great Pumpkin Toss at Arbutus Meadows, where community members can bring their Halloween pumpkins and have them catapulted through the air by cannons built by Alair Homes and VMAC. All proceeds from the event will go to the Nanaimo Child Development Centre.

The event will feature air-compressor-driven cannons, built to the latest standards and specifications, and participants can choose whether they'd like their pumpkins fired via the heavy artillery or smashed. The smashed squashes will then serve as a fabulous feast for the farm animals on site. It's a great opportunity for kids to have some fun and learn a little about engineering, compressed air, geometry, and skilled crafters.

Last year's event raised $6,000 for the CDC, and this year organizers are hoping to splatter that record.
