General
The Qualicum Beach Inn has 32 rooms split between two floors. As there is no elevator, the second floor is only accessible by stairs. The public areas of the property are fully accessible with an accessible washroom located just off the lobby. There are push-button actuators to open the main door from both inside and outside. There are two designated disabled parking spaces just outside the lobby. The Pool and Hot Tub area is accessible with stairs into the pools having railings on both sides. While the change room is accessible, there is no accessible washroom.
The adjacent restaurant – Qualicum Beach Café – is fully accessible both inside and on the patio. The washrooms in the lobby area also serve the restaurant.
Accommodations
The Qualicum Beach Inn offers one accessible room (#108) on the ground floor. The entry door has 32” (81cm) width making for easy access in a wheelchair. The king bed is accessible from all sides with plenty of maneuvering room for a wheelchair including onto the small patio area. There is a push-button door-actuator for opening the door from the inside. The washroom is fully accessible with a 32” (81cm) wide threshold and good access to the sink and toilet with two adjacent grab bars. There is a full roll-in shower with a shower stool (stored in the closet) and two grab bars. There is an overhead shower head and a handheld shower head.
The rest of the rooms in the Qualicum Beach Inn have bathtub configurations and the washrooms do not have room for entry/maneuvering of a wheelchair.
