General
The Coast Parksville Hotel has 36 rooms split between three floors which are all served by elevator. The public areas of the property are fully accessible with the exception of the washroom next to the Business Center / Lounge area.
There are no designated wheelchair parking spaces, but there is plenty of on-site parking.
Accommodations
The Coast Parksville Hotel offers two accessible rooms (#108 and #110) on the ground floor.
The entry door has 33” (83cm) width making for easy access in a wheelchair. The queen bed is accessible from both sides of the bed and there is a low closet rail for hanging clothes.
The washroom is accessible with a 31” (78cm) wide threshold and good access to the sink and toilet, however it takes some maneuvering in a wheelchair to get the door closed. There is a large grab bar next to the toilet. The shower has a sliding glass door which is 25” (63 cm) wide, but a 2 inch (5cm) lip does not allow for a “roll-in” scenario. There is a large shower stool provided with the shower controls at the far end. There is a large overhead shower head plus a handheld shower head. There are no permanent grab bars in the shower but suction handles are available on request.
