Community Spotlight Series: French Press Coffee Roasters

Based in Qualicum Beach, the specialty coffee roaster prides itself on sourcing and roasting some of the best coffee available. Owner of French Press Coffee Roasters, Jeremy Perkins, shares his insight on living in PQB and some of his favourite local spots.

"When describing where we live to someone who has yet to visit, I tell them it is a truly beautiful and vibrant destination, nestled between snow-capped mountains, old-growth forest and spectacular ocean scenery.

I love the pace of life here in Parksville Qualicum Beach. There is a real sense of community, especially in Qualicum Beach. It often feels like I've been transported to Stars Hollow on the set of Gilmore Girls.

One of the most delightful attributes of Qualicum Beach is its walkability and diverse and often complementary businesses. Food and drink-wise, we love Qualicum Beach Cafe, Fern + Cedar and De L'ile. We also have the delightful Qualicum Toy Shop, a traditional sweet shop in Swell Sweets and a beautiful pottery and plant store called Clay and Green. Running a coffee roaster' and in the throes of renovating a new space in Parksville, I rarely have a day off. But when I do, I enjoy walking the trails, taking our dog Millie to French Creek and dining in one of my favourite places.
