Community Spotlight Series: Fairwinds Golf Club

Known as a challenging course to play, Fairwinds Golf Club offers incredible rewards including stunning views, ancient Douglas firs, wildlife, and dramatic shorelines. Facilities include two practice greens, a year-round driving range, and a short-game practice area. PGA-certified professionals also provide lessons, camps, and clinics for golfers of all levels. We spoke to Head Professional Travis Busch about Fairwinds and life in Parksville Qualicum Beach, including some of his favourite local spots and tips for visitors.

What do you love about where you live?

"The means to enjoy an outdoor lifestyle with views of both the ocean & snow-capped mountains. Mild weather in the winter is a benefit but the spectacular long hot summers make the Parksville Qualicum Beach area an excellent place to call home."

Where do you take family and friends when they visit?

"The one place that I make sure to show first-time visitors to the area is Little Qualicum Falls. This unique walk/hike is something that we are very fortunate to have in our backyard and it’s a place that people will never forget once they see the view and hear the sounds."

What other businesses should people see during their visit?

"The places that I recommend people visit in the Parksville Qualicum Beach area are the Coombs Market, Mount Arrowsmith Brewing Co., and one (or more) of the 7 amazing golf courses that are in the area."
